For all classes, materials will be provided each week and and weekly video highlights will be accessible to you online. Class size will be limited to 8 people.

Intro to Guitar: will be offered again in the fall.

Beginner 1 Guitar: If you know a tiny bit about guitar, a small handful of chords and songs, have taken a few lessons or an introductory class in the past, this is the class for you. In this class we will slowly build foundational skills for playing folk/rock guitar. We will work with basic major and minor chord shapes in the context of simple songs. We will work on musicality, rhythm, getting from chord to to chord, strumming, melodies, scales, tablature, finger-picking, theory and repertoire.

Beginner 1/2: This class will draw from materials and skills from both beginner 1 and 2.

Beginner 2: If you have been playing for a little while and aim to sing around the campfire this year, this is the class for you. In this class we will build security and confidence with foundational skills, and will peek into more advanced skills like bar chords. We will work with fairly simple and some more complex songs: rhythm, strumming, melodies, tablature, finger-picking, theory and lots of repertoire. Each week we will do a combination of review and new songs/ and skills.

Beginner 2/3: This class draws materials from both beginner 2 and beginner 3.

Beginner 3: This is a class for folks who have worked on basic guitar skills for a while, but want to stay inspired and be challenged with new ideas. In this class we will utilize all kinds of chord shapes, bass runs, simple melodies, riffs and fills, and sometimes complex rhythms and finger picking to make your songs more dynamic. If you enjoy making music with other people in a relaxed setting, want to get a weekly work out, sing and stretch a bit, but still happy to consider yourself a beginner, this is the class for you.
