Summer launch Guitar Party

Winter 2026 session begins Jan 4th, Registration is open!

All classes are in-person and are held at my home studio located by the Ashby BART.

If you are new to the studio, you are welcome to come check out a class for free! Contact me if you would like some help assessing your level.

For all classes, materials will be provided each week and and weekly video highlights will be accessible to you online. Class size will be limited to 8 people.

*There will be no classes February 15th-20th.

Intro to Guitar: Meets Sundays at 4pm beginning January 4th. If you have never played guitar before, and know almost nothing about it, this is the class for you. You will be amazed at how quickly you can learn to play simple songs. In this class we will build a solid foundation for learning basic “folk/rock” guitar starting from zero. You will get acquainted with your instrument, music vocabulary, basic theory, chords, strumming and finger picking! The goal of the class is to make music in a relaxed and social environment. You will need to have a guitar to bring to class. This class will run for 8 weeks and the cost is $225

Beginner 1 Guitar: (Section 1) meets Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm beginning January 13th. (Section 2-FULL) meets Tuesdays 5-6pm beginning January 13th. If you know a tiny bit about guitar, a small handful of chords and songs, have taken a few lessons or an introductory class in the past, this is the class for you. In this class we will slowly build foundational skills for playing folk/rock guitar. We will work with basic major and minor chord shapes in the context of simple songs. We will work on musicality, rhythm, getting from chord to to chord, strumming, melodies, scales, tablature, finger-picking, theory and repertoire. This class will run for 10 weeks, through March 27th. The cost is $300.

Beginner 1/2: meets (section 1) Mondays 6:15-7:15pm beginning January 5th, or (section 2)Thursdays 12pm - 1pm beginning Jan 8th or, (section 3) Fridays 1:45-2:45pm beginning January 9th. This class will draw from materials and skills from both beginner 1 and 2. This class will run for 11 weeks, through March 27th. The cost is $325.

Beginner 2: meets (section 1) Sundays 5:10-6:10pm beginning January 4th, (section 2) Fridays 12:30-1:30pm beginning Jan 9th, If you have been playing for a little while and aim to sing around the campfire this year, this is the class for you. In this class we will build security and confidence with foundational skills, and will peek into more advanced skills like bar chords. We will work with fairly simple and some more complex songs: rhythm, strumming, melodies, tablature, finger-picking, theory and lots of repertoire. Each week we will do a combination of review and new songs/ and skills. This class will run for 11 weeks, through March 27th. The cost is $325.

Beginner 2/3: (FULL)meets 7:30-8:30pm Sundays beginning Jan 4. This class draws materials from both beginner 2 and beginner 3. This class will run for 11 weeks, through March 27th. The cost is $325.

Beginner 3: meets (section 1) Sundays 6:20-7:20pm beginning Jan 4th, (section 2-FULL) Mondays 7:30-8:30pm beginning jan 5th, (section 3) Tuesdays 6:15-7:15pm beginning Jan 6th, (section 4-FULL) Fridays 3:30-4:30pm beginning Jan 9th. This is a class for folks who have worked on basic guitar skills for a while, but want to stay inspired and be challenged with new ideas. In this class we will utilize all kinds of chord shapes, bass runs, simple melodies, fills, and sometimes complex rhythms and finger picking to make your songs more dynamic. If you enjoy making music with other people in a relaxed setting, want to get a weekly work out, sing and stretch a bit, but still happy to consider yourself a beginner, this is the class for you. This class will run for 11 weeks, through March 27th. The cost is $325.
